From Jindabyne it is a 110km drive to Khankoban, near the Victorian border, on an alpine road, I think the most scenic part of the drive was the first half. As you pass through Treadbo where it still snows during November and then into the great dividing range shrouded in mist.
The entire drive to Khancoban takes about 2 hours, where you can stop for a break or have lunch. Khancoban has several options. So maybe pack a picnic lunch.

After visiting Khankoban, you can return to Jindaby via the same route. Or returning via the longer route via Kiandra (on our last trip we actually continued to Victoria, I haven’t driven via Cabramura to Kiandra in the past but if I remember correctly). It will be more beautiful.
It’s about an 80-minute drive from Cancoban to Kiandra, near the junction with the Snowy Mountains Highway, and then another 90-minute drive back to Jindabye. The total round trip time is approximately 4 hours 40 minutes.
Please note that some roads are closed during winter. Snow chains are also required on other roads. They are best ridden in the warmer months of the year.
