The Best Dog Friendly Beaches In The Us
Old Hunstanton Beach offers year-round access for your dog, meaning they’ll have plenty of time to run on the sand, dip their paws in the water and explore the cliffs. Set in a charming village, this beach offers a completely different feel to the cobblestones of Hunstanton Beach, instead offering golden sands, rolling cliffs and a great place to watch the sunset while walking the dog.
There is a cafe and a shop here, and they are well provided for adults and children. Kitesurfing is also available for those looking for some adrenaline.
Holkham Beach is a great place for your dogs to stretch their legs all year round, but there are some caveats to note. The beach serves as a nature reserve and during certain seasons of the year various wild animals live in its natural environment.
Dog racing interferes with this and the team at Holkham work hard to ensure that, although dogs are always welcome, wildlife is not affected. As a result, some coastal areas only allow dogs to roam from early April to late August. The remaining 70% of the beach is open for walking as long as the dog is under close supervision. Areas are clearly marked so you don’t have to stick to designated areas during certain seasons.

With plenty of activities in the reserve and on the beach itself, this place is perfect for families, couples and solo travelers all year round.
If sandy beaches are your thing, Wells-beyond-the-Sea may be the choice for you and your dog. With a backdrop of beautiful pine trees and beach huts, you might think you’re in a movie walking along the beach.
Dogs are allowed year-round, but there is a dog-free zone for the first 200 meters, allowing people to build sandcastles and perhaps avoid treasure hunting to explore something a little more chaotic. Starting from the pine forest, restrictions are relaxed and dogs can roam freely.
There are also restrictions in some areas and signs will tell you if there are restrictions on your part of the beach. Like Holkham, the wildlife is protected, so in some areas the dog must be on a lead at all times.

With miles of beautiful sandy beach, you can get lost in time and take a stroll along Brancaster Beach on a North Norfolk holiday.
Ideal for families and those looking for some beach activities, Brancaster is popular with all age groups. History buffs will also enjoy a bit of a wander as the SS Vina shipwreck is visible at low tide. It was used by the RAF for target practice during the Second World War but was stuck on a sandbank and has been there ever since! We must add that at any moment you should try to look carefully. This is extremely dangerous.
Dogs are welcome all year round, but there are some restrictions in the summer. Enjoy the cafe and shops to stock up on groceries and souvenirs, and let your little one roam around a bit as they enjoy the sand and sights just as much as you do!
Thornham is another beach that offers year-round access for dogs with no restrictions. And on this scenic walk you can rest, relax and enjoy the rivers, marshes and grassy mountains as you approach the coast.
