Good Dog Vacations Reviews – Good customer service, like a smile, goes a long way and costs nothing, especially in the leisure, entertainment and tourism industry. We Brits have to put up with a lot of bad customer service. In fact, we are famous for being patient with the entire world. Fawlty Towers is fun until you experience the same level of customer service.
Hotels tend to strive for personalization, telling you how great they are and what extra features they offer over the competition to encourage you to book.
Good Dog Vacations Reviews
Most of us have stayed in hotels, good and bad, but I’m going to tell you something about the industry that might surprise you. Not all hotels, no matter how smart, sophisticated or basic they are in terms of brick and mortar or extras, offer truly excellent service.
Dog Friendly Pubs And Restaurants In Reading
This is never truer than with hotels, motels, vacation establishments, etc. In cases that advertise themselves as “dog friendly” but are actually “dog tolerant” at best.
As the owner of two good, non-toxic dogs that don’t carry distemper and aren’t rabid, I tend to feel a certain compulsion to hunt and have them with me when the opportunity arises.
He likes to do this. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not one of those annoying dog owners who forces their dogs on other people or lets them jump on you and then tells you how not to hurt or harm them. Any (serious) harm, regardless of your state of obvious fear and discomfort. Dog owners and non-dog owners, we know them all
No, I’m just a normal guy who enjoys the company of his dogs and the pleasure of making them happy by carrying them in the car to come with me whenever possible.
How To Find A Dog Friendly Campsite
This also applies to public holidays. I have no use for pensions. Absolutely nothing against them – I work in pensions – they are not just for me.
I like my dogs to experience the joy of taking a short break from their normal routine, seeing new places and digging holes in new ground, where holes have never been dug before. I like my dogs to have as much fun as I do and to come home feeling like they’ve had a new experience in a new place, met new people, and left lots of new holes in new places.
I’m not a “camping or caravan” person. As for guesthouses, nothing against them, they prefer brick and mortar when it starts to rain. This means that when I leave, I will have to find a hotel, guesthouse or similar accommodation. Lucky for me, with the Internet and all the publications full of pet-friendly accommodations, I can go wherever I want and take my dogs with me.
But there is a problem and it is a big problem; That many hotels and other accommodation providers that describe themselves as pet friendly are completely unfriendly to animals. You may think of the term conflict, let me put it another way.
Dog Friendly Vista, Instagrammable Murals And The Yellow Deli Review • Maggielovesorbit.com
What some establishments mean when they describe themselves as “animal friendly”, I prefer the translation as “animal tolerant”.
That is, they accept pets under duress, but when you go to the lobby with your shiny, furry, wet vacationers, the receptionist cannot take them away, but must have the right to serve the last one. It makes you wait for the right customers, it drives you crazy, it pinches your nose, it makes a lot of noise to clean too much, it gives you a list of places that “may not accept it”, it warns you to be a nuisance. Other guests give advice on basic hygiene and make you feel like a second-class citizen carrying the bubonic plague rather than a truly well-rounded companion animal.
That said, I particularly enjoyed reading the introduction to Dog-Friendly Weekends: 50 UK Breaks for You and Your Dog, written by Lottie Gross, as part of Bradt’s acclaimed travel guide series.
Lottie Gross is a travel writer and dog lover who spent many years taking her dogs on adventures for work. Joining him on everything from light aircraft flights to the Isles of Scilly to city walks in Lincoln, her dogs are almost as well-traveled as he is. Lottie has written dog-related travel articles for the Telegraph, The Times, woman & home and Woman. During his travels, he noticed a significant difference between hotels and attractions that claim to be dog-friendly and those that actually are; Many places will allow your dog in, but not all places will definitely welcome him. That’s why he’s made it his mission to find the best dog-friendly places in Britain.
Planning A Dog Friendly Trip To Vashon Island
Helpful, focused and does exactly what it promises, which is to offer several options for those who want to take their dogs to places where everyone is truly welcome.
The book sat on my kitchen coffee table for a few weeks, and everyone in my house asked me if I had planned a little getaway with Denise and Christopher, my two canine companions. Turns out it wasn’t. But the book instilled in me the motivation to put something on the calendar.
In fact, some of my canine friends who visited me said the same thing. After a quick browse through the pages of Dog Friendly Weekends: 50 UK Breaks for You and Your Dog, I also started making some plans for a short break in the UK, somewhere where your pets can have fun.
So if you’re a dog owner and want to find somewhere in the UK for a real dog party, day out or mini break, it’s super easy.

Ryan O’Meara is editor-in-chief and publisher of K9 Magazine. Ryan is a former professional dog trainer and lives in the East Midlands with his two dogs, Mia and Chloe. He is the author of several books about dogs and regularly contributes to the media on various canine topics. During the pandemic, he was looking for a place for the animals! In fact, there are many, but unfortunately not all hotels are as pet-friendly as they say. 😥
I decided to book the Sofitel Sentosa because my family likes to spend time at the beach. I’m glad we did it because we had so much fun!
They have launched a new FurKid Retreat package that includes 2 people + 1 pet, breakfast + dinner! Let me share with you in more detail ☺️
Dog Friendly Staycation Review: Red Roof Inn Alexandria, Virginia
• Since most hotels have weight restrictions, I am often held back because my baby Kaito weighs 13kg. However, the Sofitel Sentosa is not! Which is good news for owners of larger puppies. 😱
• There is no limit to how many pets are allowed! An additional pet costs SGD 88++, including an additional basket of amenities.
• The entire hotel is pet-friendly, where pets can travel for free! In addition to the pool area, to prevent puppies from drowning 🏊
• Lots of grass around your pets for them to do their thing! So there is no need to worry.
Herding Hill Farm Review & Discount Code
I found the services provided to be quite sufficient and allowed me to bring less during my stay. I’ll share more about what I used later in this post.
• Pet bed – size is suitable for my 30 lb baby. Bigger dogs won’t fit!
• Pay Pad – A large dryer is provided. If you need more, just call room service 🛎️
• Daily Meals – I bring frozen packaged meals to defrost in the refrigerator. Fill the basin with hot water to heat the food before eating.
The Oarsman Marlow: Dog Friendly Bistropub And Wine Bar (review)
Forget about asking for a room with a bathroom, because every room at Sofitel Sentosa has one! Enjoy a good sparkling wine for you and your pet! They provide little packets of bath salts for people, but we recommend having a nice bath bomb to pamper yourself with!
I think I can say that Sofitel Sentosa is the first hotel that allows dogs in the dining room. I was worried before leaving Hana and Kaito in the room while I ran through the breakfast buffet to get back to the room. Now we no longer have to worry about anything and we can enjoy our meals little by little!
For dinner, it’s à la carte with a variety of cuisines! Their Indian butter curry is amazing, try it! 🤤
There is a staircase that connects the pool area to Tanjong Beach. Very useful if you don’t drive. We check all documents in advance and leave
