Burlington, Vermont is one of the most dog-friendly places in New England. With amazing outdoor adventures and a relaxed, modern downtown, Burlington is a playground for dogs and their companions. You will find many interesting things about your puppy. Cycle along the shores of Lake Champlain on the Burlington Greenway, then stop to sample local brews at one of the city’s dog-friendly breweries. Burlington beer spots that allow pups on the patio include Foam Brewers and Zero Gravity Craft Brewery, while places like Switchback Brewing Co. dogs are also allowed inside. There are dog beaches along the Atlantic border. I’ll spill the tea and tell you that Rehoboth Beach on the Delaware Bay is one of the best dog-friendly vacation spots on the East Coast.

If you live in the southern tip of New Jersey, the Cape May Lewis Ferry will take you directly to this beautiful beach town and Rehoboth Beach is an easy trip since dogs travel for free!

If you visit before May 1st, dogs are allowed on the beach. During the summer months, there are some restrictions, but dogs can enjoy Dewey Beach before 9:30 a.m. and after 5:30 p.m.

Located near several state parks, Gordon’s Pond State Park has no shortage of outdoor activities for you and your dog to enjoy, including exploring the lakes, forests, and wetlands. I recommend walking The Junction and Breakwater Trail, which served as a railroad.
