With a 3 to 1 transfer ratio for most flight programs (with 5,000 bonus miles for every 60,000 miles you transfer), you can get some great deals on flights. Of course there are many hotel options, but since we were traveling as a family and researching travel plans, I was more interested in amenities. Did you know you can use your points at the Walt Disney Swan and Dolphin Resort? Technically not considered a property resort, this twin resort in the Boardwalk area is within walking distance of Epcot and Hollywood Studios and gives you almost every amenity, including express entry and extended magic hours. They also offer fun family activities for kids ages 4-12 like swim movies and nighttime dolphin camps, which are free for 2 hours for parents who dine at the hotel restaurant, otherwise $10/hour. If you don’t want to get into the action, there are plenty of other options nearby. Properties like the Marriott Harbor Lakes or the Sheraton Vistana offer larger room amenities with kitchenettes and actually have fewer points per night.

I was surprised and thrilled to learn that this iconic resort in the Bahamas is in the Marriott family. They offer the world many different options at different price levels/points. Many families find Reef of Atlantis attractive with its condo-style accommodations with kitchenettes.
Known for its beaches and cozy/relaxing atmosphere, Anna Maria Island is a great place for families to explore. Accommodations in Anna Maria are mostly small owner-operated properties, which is part of its “old Florida” charm. The Waterline signature is the newest addition to the collection, and is one of the island’s most popular attractions. All accommodations at this resort are two-bedroom condo-style units with full kitchens that are perfect for families. For 35,000 Marriott Bonvoy points per night, this place is a great place.
Full disclosure, we haven’t left the US with our kids, but definitely plan to, and we’ve added the Westin Grand Cayman to our list. The property has an excellent location on Seven Mile Beach, and many amenities include the Westin Kids Club which offers a splash program for children ages 4+.
The Ritz Carlton Amelia Island is a beautiful property for any occasion, but they make it easy to enjoy this sanctuary with children. It truly has something for everyone with incredible spas, stunning beaches, renowned golf courses, extensive dining options, game rooms, indoor and outdoor pools and more. Ritz Kids offers many things for young people including story time, pirates, treasure hunts and other adventure programs.
