While we don’t think the views of these Kananaski tours are worth it, there’s more to it than that! From waterfalls to mountain lakes to alpine forests filled with wildflowers, the unique beauty and variety of these hiking trails make Kananaskis one of the best places to hike.

With Kananaski hiking trails close to Calgary and Kenmore, it’s a favorite hiking destination for locals. While no one can argue with the incredible views you can get in Banff, you can find incredible views in Kananaskis.

This is not a list of Kananaski hiking trails, nor is it the best hiking trail in Kananaski. This is a list of trips that everyone should do at least once. Each of them offers something different, whether it’s a mountain lake, a spectacular mountain view, or both.

You’ll likely find Ha Long Peak and EEOR (below) on your list of top Kananaski hikes. How important is this? You can’t beat the view of the Canadian Rockies! If you visit Ha Ling, it is definitely worth the hike.

We have seen people of all fitness levels complete the summit of Ha Ling. Although it takes patience, one step at a time will get you there. The path is easy and has great rewards. Be careful walking on the soft saddle stones and don’t get too close to the edge.

One of our favorite hikes in Kananaskis is Wind Ridge. We have done this Kananaski hike several times and it never fails to amaze us. We are happy to be able to hold our children on this difficult day in Kananskis in 2020.

The Yamanuska Mountain Trail is one of Kananaskis Country’s most popular hikes. There are many different versions of this Kananaski tour, from via ferrata through beautiful aspen forests to challenging encounters with the elements.

The full version of the hike to the top of Mount Yamnoska is difficult, but Albert Parks’ recent revisions have made it easy. In other words, Mount Yamnoska has more rescuers each year than any other mountain in the Canadian Rockies.

While you’ll often see Ha Ling Peak recommended by Kannada’s best hiking lists, Kanon Peak is rarely mentioned. While we think Ha Ling Peak is one of the best hikes in the Kananskis, if you have enough time, we also recommend hiking Miner Peak.

Once you reach the raceday saddle of Ha Ling Peak, the climb to the summit of the mines is a little more difficult, but it is very peaceful and the view is great. In addition, you will get one of the best views of Ha Ling Peak.

The Best Dog Friendly Winter Hikes Across Canada

After seeing Ha Ling Peak from Connors Peak, you can get a similar stunning view from the Kananaski Hiking Trail. The EEOR (East End of the Rundle) hike is one of the best hikes in Kananaskis.

The higher you are with EEOR, the better the view! Despite its spectacular mountain views, hiking the EEOR can be challenging, especially trail-finding. We recommend using the AllTrails app for this hike.

We have been returning to this Kananaski tour for years and enjoy it every time. After passing through the forest, you will reach a hill and hikers will always have a beautiful view of the mountain.

There is a slight climb to the top for the full climb. We, like most hikers, will turn to the 5.2km mark due to time constraints. But don’t worry, even if you don’t summit Wasootch Ridge, you’ll still get the best part of the trip.

Grassy Lakes is an easy hike with great income in Kananaskis. This short Kananaski hike is popular on weekends because it’s a great family outing. The road is wide and only 4 km, accessible to many people.

At the top you will be rewarded with a view of the stunning turquoise lakes. Hiking Grassy Lakes is also possible in the winter and is one of Kenmore’s best winter hikes. The family-friendly hiking trail in Kananaskis is so busy that it quickly fills with snow and requires winter boots (or maybe microspikes if the trail is cold).

One of the easiest hikes in Kananaskis is to go to the Black Shell Suspension Bridge. Although you can stop at Smit-Dooren (Highway 742) and make this short 1 km journey, we recommend going to the Blackshell Suspension Bridge from the Black Prince Day car park. From the parking lot, you’ll cross Summit-Dooren and begin a 6km hike along the High Rocky Trail.
