Tucked away in Barrington Tops National Park is a cute little place called Coachwood Camping Area. Located in Chichester State Forest, it has a rainforest fern atmosphere, swimming holes and gentle rapids. This is a great playground for your furry friend.
The Coachwood camping area is available on a first-come, first-served basis and is free! There are trash cans, fire pits and long toilets, but you must have your own water. Four-wheel drive vehicles can drive, but be careful when it’s raining or in low cars.
Further north, but still in Barrington Tops, is Riverwood Downs Campground. If you want to pamper and pet your dog by the river while staying in touch with nature, look no further.

This is special. Delicate Beach Campground, next to Goolwa National Park, is dog friendly as it is located in Goolwa Regional Park. Take the sand? tick Does the dog surf? Teak! Dog hair all over the tent? You bet.
Soft camping doesn’t take reservations, but you’ll want to arrive early during peak times. It’s $24 (including two people, the rest for extras) and cash. You must be self-sufficient and BYO water, but there are toilets.

Hailing from Australia, this place is close to Mount Jerusalem National Park but has a garden of paradise with peacocks roaming the lawns and wild macadamia and mulberry trees for you to pick. Of course, dogs can also join in the fun.
Ground Maca Campground is relatively close to Byron Bay, home of Bluesfest, Splendor in the Grass and Falls Festival Campers and more than double the prices. Avoid this time if you are looking for quiet.
North of Tara is a dog camp where you can walk your dog under an ash tree. The place is grassy and open, surrounded by footpaths and a starry sky above. What more could you ask for?

Coopernook Forest Park has restrooms and a grill, but you must bring your own water. The site is free, no reservations are required, and since it’s right off the Pacific Highway, it’s easy to stumble upon.
Twenty clicks south of the windswept fishing town of Eden is the Scruby Creek Picnic Area. East Boyd’s native bush is a great campsite for dogs. It’s the perfect place to practice sit, shake, drink and bring me a beer by the fire.
Expect a table, a fire and nothing else. Scrubby Creek Campground is dog-friendly and a great base for independent backpackers on a coastal trip.
North Head Campground (as opposed to NSW National Parks North Head Campground) is located at the mouth of the Moruya River where it empties into the sea. Come back with Fido when the sun goes down for a wet, sandy weekend!

It’s a real mystery how one of NSW’s most stunning coastal campsites is dog-friendly. Hams is dotted with campsites interspersed with coastal cliffs and small beaches. Each beach has different rules, but most allow dogs to be killed between 5pm and 9am. You know, the best time.
Mystery Bay Campground cannot be reserved, so if the weekend is busy, get there early! Prices vary throughout the year but are quite cheap, with the only real amenities being long toilets and cold showers. Oh, and the decorations are gorgeous, of course.
