Instead of trying to make sense of all these numbers, we used our own personal experience. We also reached out to some travel bloggers and compiled this list of the most dog-friendly cities in the US. Surprisingly, many of our cities overlap with these official lists.

Whether you want to have a drink with your dog by your side at a restaurant or you’re looking for something more specific, like other long-nosed dogs to play with, we’ve got you covered.

We tend to go for more adventurous trips, like river rafting in the off-road Tetonsari in Moab, Utah. But sometimes you just have to wander around town, listen to live music and stuff your face with barbecue. Hmm, sounds like Memphis too, doesn’t it?

Start your weekend by exploring downtown Chattanooga and walking across one of the longest pedestrian bridges in the world, the Walnut Street Bridge. You can watch the boats pass under the bridge or admire the sunset over the river.

If you are interested in vacationing with dogs in Florida, one of the best things to do in the area is to enjoy Honey Island Dog Beach. Located just 20 minutes from Clearwater, this piece of paradise is Florida’s best dog-friendly beach.

Here your little ones can play, walk and swim in the clear and calm water. They will love it!

For example, the dog-walking company Rover, which has an app for finding babysitters, ranked Denver as the third most dog-friendly city in the United States.

Also, Hollywood is the entertainment center of the world. Take your dog to some of Los Angeles’ most iconic locations, including the Hollywood Walk of Fame or a walk to the Hollywood Sign atop Mount Lee.

There are miles of hiking trails throughout Griffith Park, so be sure to check out the Givywood Mountain Trail as well. It offers the best views of the Hollywood sign, the Griffith Observatory and Los Angeles in general.
